Nova Johnstone, known as “Miss Nova” to her students has been training and dancing classical ballet for 25 years. She’s a former recipient of International Scholarships to world renowned training facilities such as The National Ballet School of Canada and The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.
She opened her first dance school at the age of 16 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia Canada teaching her peers and kinder classes.
She later went on to perform roles such as The Dew Drop Fairy, Swanhilda in Coppelia, Les Sylphides and has had pieces choreographed on her such as Dance of The Blessed Spirits with Halifax Ballet Theatre.
Her on screen experience includes a recurring role in the Showcase Network series Call Me Fitz starring Jason Priestly.
With her entrepreneurial strengths she’s also created Ballet Body Fit www.balletbodyfit.com with her business partner Chelsea MacKenzie who runs operations in Canada and has put on several workshops under the name Fit For Freedom. Fit For Freedom helps women coming out of abusive relationships, overcome residual feelings of low self worth through movement and healthy lifestyle planning.
She frequently speaks as a mentor for Young Women in Business groups, Cancer Survivor Initiatives and loves to write!
